Well, we almost had it in the bank, the smoke-filled air took its toll on our panel generation for the month, and we will not make our target #100renewable for the year – just another side effect to the terrible devastation the nation is experiencing.
The very positive news is that all our centres showed a reduction in consumption for the month compared to last year. The #renewablecampaign with the children and educators appears to have borne fruit with some of our centres showing significant reductions. Overall we used 500 kilowatts less power, that’s a reduction of nearly 6% across the business.
The centre with the highest power savings was our North Boambee centre with a massive 13% reduction. Go you good thing! The centre receives a $500 allocation for new resources for the children in recognition of the savings. North Boambee was followed by Grafton (8%), Emerald (6%) and Scarba Street (2%), all with savings.
Each North Boambee educator gets star kudos in our Educator Spotlight program, remember if you see something exceptional vote for your favourite educator here.
